Glamour, Fashion, Good Food and Friends – Bloomin’ Brunch

Bloomin' Brunch | Old Metairie Garden Club
Garden Prayer

Metairie Country Club was the setting for Old Metairie Garden Club’s 1st Bloomin’ Brunch for the members. There were 40 registered members who enjoyed a relaxing and delightful time, dressed in summer fashions with beautiful hats and fascinators.  Several men joined, dressed in linen, guayaberas, and hats too!

A full brunch buffet was laid out by Metairie Country Club and there were all sorts of cocktails to quench the palette with top name brands cash bar.

Director of Member’s Socials, Tina Bordelon coordinated and did an amazing job setting the space and overseeing the event.  Tena Ducote of Faber Awards, volunteered with decorations of floral centerpieces, adding a red carpet, and included 40 water goblets etched with Old Metairie Garden Club logo for each member to take home as a souvenir.

There were wonderful door prizes donated by members: Treva Lincoln, Tina Bordelon and Carmen Waring.  But, without the graciousness of Ms. Carey Hammett, who is a long time member of Metairie Country Club, Bloomin’ Brunch would not have happened in such a wonderful venue.

Old Metairie Garden Club’s president, Carmen Waring, presented a gift to Ms. Carey Hammett on behalf of the board, for her great sponsorship. We are so pleased with Honorary Board Member, Carey Hammett and her untiring efforts in our community.  We look forward to Bloomin’ Brunch 2020 at Metairie Country Club again.

Not only did we have food, cocktails, and prizes, but we also loved the fashion show put on by Stein Mart and representative, Betsy White.

Thank you also, to Carmen Waring who made the connection with Betsy White and who also found the krewe of young models by contacting a few friends and members.

The photographs by Mary Domingue, depict the wonderful time the models had, along with the members. Summer Fashions and upbeat songs were matched for the occasion and no doubt added to make the Bloomin’ Brunch a hit.

Thanks to Heidi Dale, VP and Denise Oliva, Treasurer for keeping track of the members and their registrations. This was a success and thank you all who participated including, Jennifer Van Vrancken, our lovely Council Woman, District 5 and an Old Metairie Garden Club member.
