Committee Minutes – March 2018

Hi Committee Members!

Thank you to: Stephanie Hughes, Ninette Edmiston, Ana Dardis, Elizabeth Manshel and Carmen Waring for attending the meeting.
NEW MEMBER SOCIAL
March 6th
 
The New Member Social will be held at Loft 18 on Tuesday, March 6th from
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Light hors-d’oeuvres will be served initially and members may purchase drinks and additional food.  Loft 18 is donating two golf simulators for play. Please mingle with our new members and discuss future events, ideas and gardening tips. Also, we are asking each member to bring a pack of candy or Easter eggs filled with hard candy (chocolate melts) to the social for the Easter Egg Hunt.
To Do List:
Ninette Edmiston will bring a bunch of balloons for outside Loft 18
Carmen Waring will bring a sign for outside Loft 18
Members will bring candy/easter eggs
The Easter Egg Hunt will be held for members on Saturday, March 31st from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Glendale Park (behind the Library). This is for members only.
If someone wants to attend the Hunt they must pay $25.00 and join the club.
OMGC GENERAL MEETING
March 20th
 
General Meeting for all member of the Old Metairie Garden Club to be held on March 20th at Lucky Coin –1525 Airline Drive, Metairie LA 70001504-835-3232 on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:30 pm.
To Do List:
 Elizabeth Manshel will get a speaker for this event.
FARMER’S ARTS METAIRIE MARKET  
Our Farmer’s Market, FAMM, will feature approximately 15 food vendors and 5 craft’s vendors. We are looking at either Tuesday, May 15th or Wednesday, May 16th from 3:30 or 4:30 to 7:30 pm
To Be Held At: Bayou Metairie Park (in front of Nora Vaden Holmes State Farm Office) Corner of Metairie Lawn and Metairie Road
We may hold the Farmer’s Market at other locations throughout the year.
Application Fee for vendors is $25.00 non-refundable and $50.00 Annual Fee.
We are initially going to have this once a month but might try having it twice a month.
Committee Responsibility:
We have been asked by the FAMM to have a craft for the kids…
 Please let me know your suggestions..
SIP & PAINT
JUNE 16th
 
Idea of Ninnette Edmiston to have her husband lead a “Sip  & Plant” demonstrating the planting of your own Bromeliad. Her husband will give valuable info on these wonderful plants.
Suggestions to make the experience great…

When is a good time to meet for our committee? The 2nd Tuesday is when the Board meets and 3rd Tuesday every two months is when the General Meetings will be held. Let me know…
